Carbon Monoxide Detectors

A carbon monoxide detector is an essential part of any household safety system. Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless gas that causes respiratory problems, nausea, confusion, and can even be fatal. The main sources of carbon monoxide include the burning of fuel, wood, gas, or other carbon sources.

What makes carbon monoxide so dangerous is that you can’t smell it, and it can quickly poison the elderly, young children, and those with respiratory issues.

Don’t continue to put your safety at risk. Make sure that you have your carbon monoxide detectors installed by our team at Alliance Expert Services — the best installers in Oklahoma City, OK.

What Do Carbon Monoxide Detectors Do?

Carbon monoxide detectors are mandatory in most buildings, according to Oklahoma state law. These devices detect even small amounts of the chemical and emit an alarm, similar to that of a smoke detector.

Ideally, you want to ensure that you do all your smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector installations at the same time and service them accordingly.

Carbon monoxide detectors use several different sensors to detect the presence of the gas in your home. The detectors will only go off once they reach a certain level of carbon monoxide. If there are low concentrations of the gas, it may take up to eight hours for the alarm to go off. At higher concentrations, the alarm will go off immediately and will only switch off once it’s in a carbon-monoxide-free environment.

Where Should I Install Carbon Monoxide Detectors?

You should have at least one detector on every level of your home, including the basement and attic. Try to place the detectors in high-use or risk rooms, like your bedroom, near fireplaces, and by doors that lead to your garage.

We also recommend installing the detectors a couple of feet below the ceiling, since carbon monoxide is a heavy gas and won’t rise as smoke does. It’s also important to keep the sensors away from humidity and heat, which can influence how well the detectors work.

Excellent service, with super fast response when I needed... to get a repair done on a property about to go on the market. Communication was excellent throughout the process and when I thought I had an issue, they made a special trip back to make sure I was happy (turns out the issue didn't exist at all, everything was perfectly done right the first time.). I highly recommend using Alliance Electricread more

Roger and Brandon did a great job installing a new home... generator for us. They also replaced a faulty sump pump in our basement before we travelled out of the country. I was extremely grateful that they could do it so quickly, so we could travel without worrying about a basement flood. I highly recommend them - very more
